David Awad

David is an investor, attorney, and software engineer who works with technology companies across the United States and the Middle East to evaluate risk, scale operations, and structure high-stakes deals. He brings technical depth from roles spanning chief technology officer positions to engineering leadership at Tumblr, Codecademy, and Ecoverse, a company backed by Bloomberg and Slow Ventures.

He serves as Principal Investor at the Dubai Future District Fund and works as a fractional chief technology officer for firms including Quinlan Partners. He has taken part in late-stage investments in SpaceX, Anduril, x.ai, and Groq, and his background spans technical due diligence for private equity and venture capital firms, litigation strategy consulting, and deploying private blockchain solutions at R3 for financial institutions. He is a member of the State Bar of California and the IEEE Artificial Intelligence Policy Committee.

Having worked across all three of law, investment, and engineering, David identifies technical risk that others miss, whether that is an architecture decision, the quality of an engineering team, or a regulatory exposure that has not yet become expensive.
