Chris Diaz

Chris Diaz brings 34 years of leadership in business strategy, growth, turnaround and investment partnerships. He has secured major global capital investment transactions across Africa, and has advised on large-scale projects that brought international capital into infrastructure, aviation, airports and manufacturing on the continent.

He is a Director of Kenya Airways PLC and of Jambo Jet Airlines, and Group Director at Bidco Africa. He chairs Adili Group and is Director of Growth and New Markets at ALN Africa, where his advisory work covers international expansion, market entry, large infrastructure, organisational restructuring and capital alignment.

His board service extends into public institutions. He has served as a director of the Kenya Airports Authority, on the government board of Brand Kenya and on the Tourism Task Force, and worked with the SkyTeam global airline alliance in Amsterdam. His aviation grounding includes training at Boeing in Seattle and IATA qualifications in international air transport and airport strategy.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Finance and a Master of Science in International Marketing from the United Kingdom, a second master's degree in leadership, and a certification from General Electric's business school at Crotonville, New York. He holds chartered status, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and of MSK Kenya, and has served as a Trustee of the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK.

In 2017 he received the Global Marketing Leader of the Year award at the Markies in the United States, the first leader from Africa to do so, and he has spoken on global economic transformation at Harvard Business School, Columbia University and Oxford University. He holds the Elder of the Burning Spear, a Presidential honour recognising his work building leading brands, serving communities and protecting the environment, and gives his time to wildlife conservation and sustainability projects.
